Meet Your Hearing Team
Tom Silver
Head of Audiology
I have been qualified as a hearing aid audiologist since 2009. I have previously been a director of six branches of Specsavers then spent 8 years as a flagship audiologist for Boots Hearingcare in Norwich. The opportunity to take on a new role as Head of Hearing for Cecil Amey has allowed me to build a culture focused on customer care in a calm and unhurried environment so we can take the time to listen (no pun intended) to the needs of each individual client that visits the store.
In my spare time I will often be found kayaking and paddle boarding with my wife and daughter on the Norfolk Broads.
Josh Newman
Audiologist
Hi, I’m Josh, I’ve worked for Cecil Amey’s for 4 years and qualified as an audiologist/ Hearing aid dispenser in April 2022. I studied at De Montfort University in Leicester. I enjoy all aspects of audiology and sound, having also studied as a musician, playing the Trumpet and guitar. I am also a keen sportsman and love skiing.
Josh Sperring
Audiologist
Hi, I’m Josh Sperring, I started working in hearing care in Sept 2016 as a hearing care assistant before going on to complete my Foundation degree in hearing aid audiology with distinction in Jan 2019, since then I have been a full time audiologist with Boots Hearing care working throughout branches in Norfolk and Suffolk, most recently within the Norwich branches. After 6 massively enjoyable years it was the right time for a new challenge and I was delighted to accept my current position with Cecil Amey where I hope to continue offering clients the very best advice and solutions regarding all their hearing needs. Away from work my time is extensively taken up by my family and mainly my two young daughters but when I do get a few free hours you’ll probably find me playing or watching some kind of sport from rugby to golf.
Holly Blanchflower
Hearing Care Assistant
Hi, I’m Holly. I studied Psychology at Middlesex University before I began working for Cecil Amey in 2021. I joined the company working in optics, but my interest in Psychology, Dementia and its links to hearing loss is what led me to train in audiology. I qualified as a Hearing Care Assistant in December 2022, and I am loving being part of the growing Audiology team. Outside of work I enjoy swimming and exploring the beautiful Norfolk Coast.
Carla Hunt
Wax Removal Consultant
I originally started out as part of an optics team before moving over to hearing in 2018. I then had a short break to have my two children and returned to the world of hearing joining the fantastic Cecil Amey Team in 2023. I’m very passionate about helping people and love the fact this job gives me the opportunity to do that. When I’m not at work you might find me on stage, singing and dancing.
Hannah Wells
Wax Removal Consultant
I have been working at Cecil Amey for 6 years as an optical assistant and after having some brief understanding about audiology from my optical assistant role in the company it sparked an interest to progress in the hearing side of the company, which is why I completed my Hearing care assistant and wax removal training course in 2024.
I enjoy the patient care side of my job and being able to help people with something that is vital to everyday life.
When I’m not at work I am usually looking after my two sons or enjoying gigs and trips away with friends.
